This week Shane and Jonathan had Nick Egoroff on the show to talk about the liberty movement in Florida, his involvement in the Campaign for Liberty, as well as his Facebook group Science of Freedom. Nick gave an in-depth look at his support of Ron Paul and the grassroots work it took to make Paul a public figure. Then, Nick filled us in on the current problem he is having with the national Campaign for Liberty organization. Finally, Nick told us about Science of Freedom, a group he started on Facebook to study how to effect real political change. All in all, a fascinating show that should interest anyone following the liberty movements on the ground around the country.

This week Shane and Jonathan bring on Nick Egeroff, hailing from Orlando, FL. Nick Egoroff has volunteered in the Ron Paul movement for over 1 and a half years. He leads the biggest Ron Paul meetup in the state of Florida. Nick hails from Orlando and is an outspoken supporter of the liberty movement. His blog and facebook pages are followed by many people around the US.

Shane and Jonathan had Glenn Nielsen on for the first time in 2009. Glenn talked about what is going on inside Libertarian circles in Missouri, as well as a recap of the 2008 election results for Missouri Libertarians. The discussion also ranged into the legalization marijuana and the lack of real change coming from the Obama administration. Jonathan also updated us on his continued experiment with eating vegetarian.

I’m a 51-year-old small “L” libertarian, having converted to the philosophy in 1980, the year I graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. I currently live in Warrenton, Virginia with my wife, Louise. I’ve worked in banking, newspapers, printing/pre-press, advertising, and server administration in the software and insurance industries. I’ve been self-employed part-time since 1995 and full-time since 2002.

I’m currently working on a novel that tells the story of a vice-president of the biggest bank in the world whose daughter is kidnapped and how, in the process of trying to get her back, he gets a shockingly unexpected education regarding the real nature of the money supply and the Federal Reserve system.

To kick off the new year of 2009, Shane and Jonathan spent the show talking about news, Ozzy, and animal adoption issues.  Ozzy has recovered almost fully and seems to be on his way to recovery.  Next, Shane and Jonathan talked about some upcoming projects as well as the current website update.  One of the stories that came up, was one about Obama’s possible purchase of a dog for the White House.  This story caused a twenty minute discussion to ensue about the ethics of buy and breeding animals.  A great start to to 2009!
