This week Shane and Jonathan were joined by Dr. Joe Buchman, a long time friend of the show, to talk about education. Recently the doctor had the oppurtunity to see a movie called “Waiting for Superman” at this year’s past Sundance Film Festival.

Shane and Jonathan returned to podcasting with this episode and talked about why they came back. As they explained, the podcast from now on will take on less of a day to day cage match type look at politics, but instead will explain and investigate the libertarian philosophy and how it relates to culture, human rights, animal rights, science, etc. This first episode focused on explaining a few fallacies about libertarianism. I didn’t think I’d be writing this, but to be quick, the podcast is back. Jonathan and I have decided that we had something pretty good going and what we really needed was a long break. So next Thursday, February 18th, we return with The libertarian Dime. The small ‘l’ is intentional to convey a slight change in focus from the previous incarnation. We will focus less on the politics of the day and more about libertarian ideas on human rights, animal rights, culture, science, etc. Also, every 4th show, we will do a “free form” show, simply called “The Dime”, where we will do shows about any topic we feel interested in. We could have a famous video game designer on, or we could be talking to one of the hoaxers behind the 2008 Georgia Bigfoot hoax.

I hope we can regain the traction and audience we had before and even build on it. My last post did sound a little down on the show, but I think since then, after we had a continued stream of downloads, I looked back with a much more positive view on the podcast. With this long break, we hope to make improvements to the show and reach new heights.
